ECRTC develops, administers and evaluates a comprehensive portfolio of Clinical Research Training initiatives and is committed to develop a cadre of well trained and highly skilled network of clinical research professionals.
These programs are intended for students with life sciences background and for others who would like to enter the clinical research enterprise in various capacities. Minimum eligibility requirement is post secondary school science college studies (PUC science subjects ). Graduates, Post-graduates and Doctoral students are well suited and are encouraged to start their careers in clinical research with these training modules.
The programs are structured in three modules with each module conducted for four months.
Module I is highly recommended for all students with non medical backgrounds.
Graduates and students of Medical, Dental, Pharmacy and Nursing are exempted from doing Module I.
This module is intended for all non medical background students. It is a rigorous and intensive program introducing the trainees to Medical and Clinical sciences. Topics include Medical Terminology, Clinical measurements and basic review of medical sciences subjects like anatomy, physiology, histology, pharmacology, microbiology and genetics etc. Also basic review of clinical subjects of internal medicine and other specialities.
This 4 month module is offered during weekdays Mon. - Fri.
This module is an introduction to the clinical research process. It should be of particular benefit to all individuals interested in clinical research whether as physician or dentist, basic scientist, or members of the allied health professions (eg. nursing, pharma etc.) . This module consists of topics in clinical research concepts, epidemiology and biostatistics, ethics and regulatory affairs. Also workshops and project work on Monitors & GCP, HIPPA training, Clinical investigator GCP, Ethics in Human Research, FDA submissions and Clinical trails site management are optional subjects the trainees can choose from.
This 4 month module is offered during weekdays Mon. - Fri.
This module is for advanced topics in clinical research namely clinical research management, Medical Informatics and Data Management. Also workshop and project work on Molecular and Genetics epidemiology, Device research, Translational Research, Site finance & productivity, (SOPs) Development & Implementation , Biomedical Informatics in translational research, and Professional US certification exam* (exam fee to be paid by student) are offered as optional subjects.
